Meeting of the Central Election Commission

Today, May 24, the Central Election Commission held its meeting, the agenda of which included the establishment of polling stations at diplomatic and other missions of Uzbekistan in foreign countries and the establishment of expert groups to verify the accuracy of the signature lists submitted by political parties.

Polling stations are established at diplomatic missions and other representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad in accordance with the Election Code and the Regulation, approved by the CEC resolution No. 966 of October 22, 2019, and upon the submission by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Based on these requirements, the Central Election Commission adopted a resolution on establishing 56 polling stations at diplomatic missions and other representative offices of our country abroad, which were assigned to the Tashkent city election district No. 14.

The meeting also decided on establishing expert groups to verify the accuracy of the signature lists submitted by the political parties.

The expert groups consist of 36 forensic and handwriting experts, representatives of higher education institutions, non-governmental, non-profit organizations, and citizens' assemblies of the Mahallas. Authorized representatives of the political parties also participate in the review of the signature lists.

The Central Election Commission will verify the accuracy of the signature lists submitted by the political parties within four days.
