Information on the meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 20

On June 20, 2023, the Central Election Commission, in its meeting, considered the organization of early voting, maintaining public order and ensuring public safety during the presidential election, appeals to the Central Election Commission during the election preparations, accreditation of international observers and media representatives, and information from the chairpersons of some District Election Commissions on the preparation and conduct of the elections.

Following the Election Code, the meeting adopted a decision on early voting, which will take place in polling stations for voters who cannot be at their residences on election day.

According to this decision, early voting will begin on June 28, 2023, and end on July 5, 2023, and the time of early voting at polling stations has been set at 9:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and from 11:00 to 17:00 on weekends and holidays.

Measures to maintain public order and ensure public safety during the presidential election were also discussed. A number of tasks of the Ministry of the Interior, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Emergencies in this area were defined, and a decision was made accordingly.

During the meeting, the members of the Commission discussed the measures taken in relation to the appeals received by the CEC during the preparation of the elections and adopted a decision.

The CEC accredited 51 observers from foreign countries and international organizations who will participate in the early election of the President of Uzbekistan.

In addition, the CEC accredited 300 local media representatives. To date, the total number of accredited representatives of domestic and foreign media is 854.

The heads of the 7th Samarkand, 6th Namangan, 12th Khorezm, 5th Navoi, and 10th Tashkent regional District Election Commissions reported on the work done to prepare and hold the early presidential elections at a high organizational level.
