Organization of two-day training sessions for national trainers to improve the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of presidential election organizers

On May 25 and 26 this year, in order to train national trainers to improve the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the organizers of presidential elections, in particular the members of the District and Precinct Election Commissions, two-day training sessions were held in accordance with the training program and on the basis of the “Concept of organizing advanced training for members of the commissions for pre-term presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

More than 120 national trainers and rectors of universities affiliated to the regions participated in the training, which was led by a group of experts composed of members and experts of the Central Election Commission, professors and lecturers of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the training sessions, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev, and the Rector of the Academy of Public Administration, Adham Bekmurodov, explained the essence of the event and the expected results.

 

The training sessions included presentations and discussions on topics and areas such as “Basic Aspects of Election Commission Procedures and Activities”, “Important Requirements of International Election Standards”, “Deficiencies in Previous Elections and Challenges to Addressing Them”, “Working with the List of Citizens Voting in Elections” and “Organising and Conducting Early Voting”.

 

In order to organize and conduct the advanced training courses for the members of the election commissions at a high level, highly qualified experts consisting of professors and teachers from the Academy of Public Administration, Tashkent State University of Law, Academy of Law Enforcement and University of Public Security prepared educational and methodological materials in the form of lecture texts, assignment questions, tests, presentations, infographics and video courses in accordance with the training plan for all levels.

 

At the end of the two-day seminars, tests were organized to check the knowledge and skills of the trainees, and the participants with the best results received certificates. On May 29-30, national trainers will travel to centers in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent to conduct training in the same form for 944 regional trainers in the assigned regions.
