On October 26 this year, the Central Election Commission met with observer missions and representatives of international organizations to observe the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and to the local Councils (Kengashes).

The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Z. Nizamkhodjaev, met with the Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, N. Ermekbaev, and the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Merey Mukazhan.

During the meeting, information was provided on the preparation and conduct of elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local Councils (Kengashes), which will be held on October 27, 2024, as well as on the features of this year's mixed electoral system.

During the dialogue, it was also noted that the participation of observers from international organizations in the open and transparent conduct of elections is an important factor, so that international election observation is accepted worldwide and has become one of the most important tasks in supporting and ensuring respect for universally recognized human rights.

For their part, the international observers noted that all activities related to the preparation and conduct of this important political event are systematically coordinated by the Central Election Commission in strict adherence to electoral legislation and are in full compliance with international norms and standards.
