Information on the meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 3, 2023

On July 3, 2023, the Central Election Commission meeting discussed the issues of accreditation of observers from international organizations and foreign states participating in the presidential elections, as well as media representatives.

At the meeting, the members of the Commission discussed the measures taken as a result of the appeals received by the Central Election Commission during the preparations for the elections and made the relevant decisions.

 

It was noted that the Central Election Commission responds to all the appeals submitted by individuals and legal entities in a timely manner and in accordance with the law, and no appeal goes unheeded.

On the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of 401 observers from the OSCE ODIHR, the Association of World Election Bodies, the CIS, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, and a number of foreign countries were accredited.

 

In addition, 42 representatives of local media were accredited after reviewing the appeals received by the Central Election Commission, and a decision was made accordingly.

The total number of accredited observers from international organizations and foreign countries participating in the early presidential elections is 785, and 1,299 representatives from local and foreign media.
