On June 23, 2023, the Central Election Commission, in its meeting, considered issues related to appeals received by the CEC during the preparation of the presidential election, accreditation of international observers and media representatives involved in the election, and information provided by the Chairpersons of some District Election Commissions on the preparation and conduct of the election.
It was noted that the CEC responded to all appeals received from individuals and legal entities promptly, in accordance with the law, with no single appeal going unnoticed.
Against this background, the members of the Commission discussed and adopted a decision on the measures taken in the period preceding the elections in connection with the appeals submitted to the CEC.
According to the agenda of the meeting, issues of accreditation of international observers and mass media representatives were also discussed. According to the MFA proposal, 124 observers were accredited from CIS, IPA CIS, SCO, and other countries.
In addition, based on the applications received by the CEC, 301 representatives of local media were accredited. Today, the total number of accredited representatives of local and foreign mass media is 1,155.
The meeting reviewed the information provided by the Chairpersons of the 1st Karakalpakstan, the 4th Djizak and the 11th Fergana District Election Commissions on the ongoing work on the preparation of the early presidential elections in Uzbekistan and their conduct at a high organizational level and adopted a decision in this regard.
